⚾ One of College Baseball's Premier Venues

UFCU Disch-Falk Field opened in 1975 as the replacement for the original Clark Field on the UT main campus. Named for legendary Longhorn coaches Billy Disch and Bibb Falk, the stadium underwent a $25.8 million renovation completed in 2008 — delivering an enclosed double-width concourse, a brick and glass façade matching DKR's aesthetic, expanded concessions, and added premium seating. The J. Dan Brown Family Player Development Center, a state-of-the-art indoor training facility with batting cages and a pitching lab, was added down the right-field line in 2019. The Disch has hosted 28 NCAA Regionals and 6 Super Regionals, and celebrates the program's College World Series titles throughout the stadium.

Seating Guide

There isn't a bad seat at the Disch — but here's how to pick the right one for you

🏆 Best Seats — Behind Home Plate

Lower Bowl Sections 10–15

The prime seats behind home plate offer completely unobstructed views of every pitch and the full field. Rows 3 and below in these sections are within the center field camera shot — if you want your face on the broadcast, aim for row 3 or lower. The grandstand overhang provides partial shade here on afternoon games.

⚾ Lower Bowl Sideline

Lower Bowl Sections 1–9 (1B side) · 16–20 (3B side)

Closest seating to the dugouts along both baselines. Sections 1–9 on the first-base side are the shaded option for day games — the grandstand overhang provides cover from afternoon sun. Sections 18–19 near the dugouts can create some neck strain tracking pitches; rows further back ease this.

☀️ Best Shade — First Base Side

Sections 1–9 · 1B Side Lower Bowl

For day games in Austin's heat — especially February through May — the first-base side is the shaded side. The cantilevered grandstand roof covers a meaningful portion of the lower bowl on the 1B line. This is the best place to be for a warm afternoon game when avoiding the sun matters.

⭐ Premium & Suites

Luxury Boxes · Upper Grandstand · Premium Sections

Luxury boxes line the upper level of the grandstand, facing the field with padded chairback seating and climate-controlled access. Retired numbers and program history are displayed on the facade below the box level. Club and suite access typically requires Longhorn Foundation membership or corporate partnerships.

🌿 Outfield Berm

General Admission · Outfield Grass Areas

The outfield berm beyond the fences is a fan favorite — general admission lawn seating with a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Fans line up along the outfield fences in a semi-tailgate that runs the whole game. Bring a blanket or lawn chair (if permitted). This is the most affordable and social option at the Disch.

🎓 Student Section

Outfield Bleacher Sections 30–35

The student section occupies the outfield bleacher area and is the loudest part of the stadium. Limited shade and angled field views, but maximum energy. Student tickets are available to currently enrolled UT students. These sections are directly behind where the Longhorn cannon fires every time Texas scores.

Food & Drink at the Disch

All cashless — card and mobile wallets accepted

🍖
Concession Staples
Standard ballpark fare across the concourse — hot dogs, sausages, nachos, pretzels, burgers, and popcorn. Larger concession areas were part of the 2008 renovation, significantly improving throughput and reducing wait times compared to most college ballparks.
🍺
Beer & Beverages
Beer is available throughout the stadium at designated concession stands. The Disch atmosphere is casual and outdoor — cold drinks and the Texas sun are part of the experience. Water stations are available on the concourse.
🌮
Texas Eats
Tex-Mex options and local-style concessions complement the standard menu at the Disch. The stadium's location in Austin means food quality tends to be a step above what you'd find at most comparable college venues — Austin's food culture bleeds into everything.
🏪
Team Store
The Texas Longhorns Official Team Shop is located behind first base inside the stadium. Gear up before the game — hats, shirts, jerseys, and Disch-specific merchandise are available. All transactions are cashless.
🎟️
Giveaway Games
Texas Athletics hosts promotional giveaway games throughout the season — bobbleheads, hats, t-shirts, and branded items distributed to fans at the gate on a first-come, first-served basis. Check the schedule at texaslonghorns.com for promo game dates.
💡
Pro Tip
Hit the concourse right at gates-open — 90 minutes before first pitch — for zero lines. The enclosed double-width concourse from the 2008 renovation moves fans efficiently, but popular matchups (SEC series weekends, LSU, Oklahoma) still build wait times around first pitch.

🤘 Disch-Falk Gameday Traditions

Texas baseball at the Disch has its own traditions separate from football — and they're worth knowing before you walk through the gates.

💥 The Cannon

A cannon in the left field corner fires every time the Longhorns score a run. One of the most distinctive gameday experiences in college baseball — you'll hear it before you see it. It's been a staple of the Disch atmosphere for years.

🤘 Hook 'Em

The same hand sign from the football stadium carries over — extend your index finger and pinky to form the longhorn steer's horns. Used in celebration, as a greeting, and any time the Longhorns do something that deserves acknowledgment on the field.

👨‍💼 Coach Busts at Entry

Four bronze busts stand in the entry plaza outside the main entrance: Billy Disch, Bibb Falk, Augie Garrido, and Cliff Gustafson. A who's who of Texas baseball history. Worth a stop on the way in.

🏆 Ring of Honor

Retired numbers and legendary names line the wall underneath the luxury boxes inside the grandstand. Texas baseball's storied history — Roger Clemens, Burt Hooten, Greg Swindell, Huston Street — is all on display as a permanent tribute.

🏟️ Outfield Fence Atmosphere

A unique Disch tradition: fans line up along the outfield fences for the entire game in a loose semi-tailgate. The energy out there is casual, loud, and social — a different vibe from the grandstand, and a great option for fans who like to roam.

🏛️ Capitol Views

From the left field corner of the Disch, the dome of the Texas State Capitol is visible on the horizon. One of the few college ballparks in the country where a state landmark shares the sightline with the outfield. Look for it from the berm or the LF bleachers.

Pro Tips for First-Time Visitors

🌡️
Heat Strategy
Baseball season in Austin runs February through May. Early-season games can be cool, but by March–May afternoon first pitches can be hot. Day games on the first-base side get grandstand shade — the third-base side bakes in full sun. Evening first pitches are the most comfortable option throughout the season.
Arrive at Gate-Open
Gates open 90 minutes before first pitch — arrive right at gate-open and you'll have the concourse to yourself, zero lines for food, and plenty of time to find your seat and watch warmups. For SEC series weekends, the stadium fills fast and entry lines can build 30–45 minutes before first pitch.
📱
Download Your Ticket
The Disch is in a dense campus area — connectivity can be stressed near first pitch. Download your ticket to the Texas Longhorns App or your digital wallet before leaving for the stadium. Screenshot it as a backup. Don't try to load it in the entry line.
🌿
Try the Berm
If you've never experienced the outfield berm at a college baseball game, the Disch is the place to try it. Grab a general admission spot on the grass beyond the fences, join the semi-tailgate atmosphere, and watch the game from the outfield. It's a uniquely Texas baseball experience.
🏆
Best Games to Attend
SEC series weekends (Friday–Sunday) against programs like LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Oklahoma bring the highest energy and biggest crowds. Mid-week Tuesday games against smaller opponents are the most relaxed and affordable experience. The NCAA Regional in late May is the most intense event the Disch hosts.
🧡
Wear Burnt Orange
The Disch is wall-to-wall burnt orange on game days — visiting team fans are a small minority and tend to cluster near the 3B side. The cannon, the roaring crowd on big runs, and the left-field fence tailgate all combine to create an atmosphere that visiting fans rarely expect from a 6,756-seat ballpark.
