The Experience

Designed by Populous and inspired by Monterrey's mountains, steel industry, and brewing heritage — El Gigante de Acero opened in 2015 and set a new standard for stadium design in Latin America. The first row is just 9 metres from the pitch.

Inside

The Stadium

  • Self-supporting tri-podal steel structure — the asymmetric roof lowers to the south, framing direct views of Cerro de la Silla mountain
  • 55-metre cantilevered roof provides shade across the bowl — ventilation via "gills" in the steel facade keeps the interior cool
  • First row sits just 9 metres from the playing surface — closer than any stadium in Mexico at its predecessor venue
  • More premium seating than any other stadium in Latin America — 324 luxury suites and over 4,500 club seats
  • LEED Silver certified — rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, and sustainable design throughout
  • Steep seating rake acoustically engineered to amplify and concentrate crowd atmosphere
Day Of

FAQ

Common Questions

First-time visitor answers, plainly stated.

It's the newest and most technically modern stadium in this series — opened 2015, with the most premium seating inventory in Latin America (324 suites, 4,500+ club seats). The first row is just 9 metres from the pitch. The steel structure frames a direct view of Cerro de la Silla mountain from the south end. It combines the best sightlines of a purpose-built football stadium with world-class hospitality infrastructure that most other venues in this region can't match.

FIFA's standard policy removes commercial naming rights for the duration of every World Cup. Estadio BBVA — named after the Spanish bank — temporarily becomes "Estadio Monterrey" for all tournament purposes. The same rule applies across the tournament: AT&T Stadium becomes a geographic name, Estadio Akron becomes Estadio Guadalajara. The venue itself is completely unchanged.

Rideshare (Uber or DiDi) is the most practical for most guests — roughly 25–35 minutes from central Monterrey under normal conditions. Metro Line 1 plus matchday feeder buses or shuttles is the most reliable when traffic is heavy. For World Cup fixtures, private transport arranged through us is the most comfortable and predictable option — particularly for post-match return with no surge pricing uncertainty.

Lower central sideline sections are the best all-round positions — full-pitch view, closest to the action, preferred by regular matchgoers. Upper midfield gives the best tactical full-pitch overview. Corner seats offer strong diagonal views at better prices. Given the steep rake and 9-metre front-row distance, the gap between tiers here is smaller than at many other venues — even corner and endzone seats deliver a strong experience.

Yes. Monterrey is Mexico's most modern and economically dynamic city with a genuinely great food scene, Barrio Antiguo's bars and galleries, the Parque Fundidora on a former steel foundry site, and the Cerro de la Silla mountain as the dramatic backdrop. It's not as culturally dense as Mexico City or Guadalajara but it's a city worth exploring for two days — particularly the food and the mountain scenery.
