Austin City Limits
OCTOBER 4-6, 11-13
Inspired by the TV music series of the same name recorded live in Austin, TX, Austin City Limits Music Festival is held annually on two consecutive weekends, kicking off with Weekend One on October 4-6 and ending with Weekend Two, October 11-13 in the heart of downtown Austin at Zilker Park. The first festival was held in 2002 and was immediately successful due to the popular reputation of the TV program. Since its foundation, Austin City Limits, often referred to as ACL, has become known for its diverse lineup of country, indie rock, hip-hop and pop artists as well as the vibrant city that plays its host.
ACL features 8 stages and over 140 bands. The 2018 lineup consisted of major names from legends like Metallica and Paul McCartney to modern stars like Shawn Mendes and Travis Scott. The two-weekend long festival always features classic Austin eats from endless tacos from Torchy’s and Texas barbecue from SaltLick to the vegan-friendly. There’s also an Art Market that features arts and crafts from local artisans and the world-renowned, as well as opportunities to make lasting connections with a variety of local organizations.
